Solid Maple
Our timber of choice for painted cabinetry frames and legs, maple is a premium hardwood with a fine, dense grain and a naturally smooth, knot ~ free appearance. This exceptional consistency allows for an almost flawless painted finish with crisp detailing and outstanding durability. Significantly harder and more robust than the tulipwood commonly used by many manufacturers, maple is exceptionally resistant to everyday wear, making it ideal for high-traffic kitchens and living spaces. We use substantial 26 ~ 28mm sections throughout, providing superior strength, stability and longevity.
Solid Oak
We use sustainably sourced, FSC ~ certified prime grade oak, carefully selected for its beautiful character, consistent grain and minimal knots. Renowned for its timeless appeal and exceptional durability, solid oak is used for our dovetailed drawer boxes, oak trays, chopping boards, as well as the framework, legs, doors, plinths and drawer fronts of our oak cabinetry. Each piece is hand ~ finished with your choice of stain and protected with two coats of premium exterior grade matt lacquer, enhancing the natural beauty of the timber while providing lasting resistance to moisture and everyday use.
Oak Veneer
Our oak veneer is used for cabinet carcasses, shelving, end panels and door panels, ensuring every cabinet features genuine oak inside and out ~ never melamine or imitation wood finishes. By using carefully selected real oak veneer over a stable engineered core, we achieve the warmth and authenticity of solid timber with greatly improved dimensional stability. This prevents the movement, warping and splitting that can occur with solid oak across larger surfaces, particularly in kitchens and bathrooms. Finished to match our solid oak cabinetry with your chosen stain and two coats of matt lacquer for a seamless, durable finish.
Moisture Resistant MDF
For painted end panels, flat drawer fronts, door panels and shelving, we use only high quality moisture ~ resistant MDF, selected specifically for its stability and longevity in humid environments. Manufactured to a far higher specification than standard MDF, its dense composition creates perfectly smooth surfaces and sharp, clean edges that result in an exceptional painted finish. Highly resistant to movement, swelling and cracking, it provides the ideal foundation for beautifully crafted painted cabinetry that is built to last.
British Made, Built to Last
Every piece of cabinetry we create is proudly British made and handcrafted from raw materials in our 8,000 sq ft purpose built workshop on the Worcestershire ~ Cotswolds border. Every cabinet is bespoke and individually made to order, allowing us complete control over quality, proportion and finish from the very first cut of timber.
Our workshop combines the best of traditional craftsmanship with the precision of modern manufacturing. Equipped with industry-leading machinery, including Altendorf F45 panel saws, spindle moulders, wide flat~bed sanders and professional Festool and Lamello systems, we achieve exceptional accuracy and consistency throughout every stage of production.
Technology, however, is only part of the story. Our experienced cabinet makers continue to use time ~ honoured joinery techniques, including traditional mortice and tenon construction, ensuring every piece possesses the strength, integrity and longevity that only genuine craftsmanship can deliver.
Before any cabinetry leaves our workshop, it undergoes a rigorous two ~ stage quality control process. Every component, finish and detail is carefully inspected by our craftsmen to ensure it meets the exacting standards we set for ourselves, giving our clients complete confidence that every piece arrives ready to be enjoyed for generations.
The result is bespoke cabinetry of enduring quality ~ beautifully made, meticulously detailed and built to be enjoyed for generations.
