Aftercare Guide
Thank you for choosing our handcrafted bespoke cabinetry.
Every piece we create is individually handcrafted in our workshop using carefully selected materials, traditional craftsmanship and an unwavering attention to detail.
Whether you’ve purchased a vanity unit, kitchen or any other piece of bespoke cabinetry from us, trust that your furniture has been handcrafted especially for your home.
Throughout this guide, “bespoke cabinetry” refers to all handcrafted furniture manufactured by us.
Because we work with natural materials such as oak, timber and natural stone, every piece has its own unique character. No two items will ever be identical, and that’s exactly how nature intended it.
With just a little care and attention, your furniture will continue to look beautiful for many years to come.
Prior To Installation
Prior To Installation
Before your furniture is installed, we recommend unpacking every component carefully and inspecting everything thoroughly.
If you notice any damage during transit, please let us know immediately and ensure it is recorded with the delivery driver before signing.
Once furniture has been installed, it becomes much more difficult to determine whether any damage occurred during delivery or installation.
If you’re ever unsure about anything before installation, simply give us a call, we’re always happy to help.
Caring For Your Furniture
Caring For Your Furniture
Whether you’ve chosen one of our beautifully painted finishes or natural oak cabinetry, caring for your furniture is refreshingly simple. Every piece leaves our workshop fully finished, carefully inspected and ready to enjoy.
For everyday cleaning you’ll only need:
- A soft microfibre cloth.
- Warm water.
- A small amount of mild soap if required.
Once cleaned, simply wipe all surfaces dry with a clean, soft cloth.
Please avoid using:
- Bleach.
- Cream cleaners.
- Abrasive pads or scouring sponges.
- Solvents.
- Furniture polish containing silicone.
- Steam cleaners.
- Harsh household chemicals.
These products can permanently damage painted finishes, natural timber, protective coatings and stone surfaces.
Natural Oak
Natural Oak
If you’ve chosen natural oak furniture, there’s no need to apply any additional treatment before use.
All exposed oak timber is professionally protected in our workshop using a durable exterior-grade lacquer, specifically selected to provide long-lasting protection whilst allowing the natural beauty of the oak to shine through.
Unlike traditionally oiled furniture, our lacquered oak does not require oiling, waxing or additional treatment.
Simply clean with a soft damp cloth and avoid leaving standing water on the surface.
As with all natural timber, you’ll notice subtle variations in grain, knots, colour and seasonal movement. These are natural characteristics and form part of the beauty and individuality of genuine oak.
Painted Finishes
Painted Finishes
Our painted furniture is also handcrafted using carefully selected natural timber.
Whilst the painted finish provides excellent protection, the furniture beneath is still made from natural materials and should be treated with the same care and attention as any fine piece of handcrafted furniture.
Avoid excessive moisture, wipe away standing water promptly and never use harsh cleaning products or abrasive materials.
Looking after the finish will help preserve both the paintwork and the natural timber beneath for many years.
Looking After Your Counter Top
Looking After Your Counter Top
Where your furniture has been supplied with a counter top, the following guidance applies.
Natural Marble
Natural marble is one of the most beautiful materials you can choose, and every slab is completely unique.
Variations in colour, veining, texture and natural markings are part of the character of genuine marble and should be celebrated rather than viewed as imperfections.
Because marble is naturally porous:
Your marble countertop should be sealed before use using a high-quality sealer specifically designed for natural marble.
We also recommend resealing periodically in accordance with the sealer manufacturer’s recommendations.
Quartz
Quartz is an exceptionally durable, non-porous surface.
Unlike natural marble, quartz does not require sealing, making it an excellent low maintenance option.
Although highly durable, quartz should still be cleaned using gentle products to preserve its appearance.
Everyday Counter Top Care
Whether you have marble or quartz, we recommend:
- Wiping away standing water after use.
- Removing toothpaste, soap and cosmetic products promptly.
- Cleaning with a soft microfibre cloth and warm water.
- Using only mild soap where required.
- Drying the surface after cleaning.
Please Avoid
- Bleach.
- Abrasive cleaning products such as creams or powders.
- Scouring pads.
- Harsh solvents.
- Strong acidic or alkaline cleaners.
- Limescale removers (particularly on natural marble).
These products can dull, stain or permanently damage the surface.
Moisture & Ventilation
Moisture & Ventilation
Good ventilation is one of the best ways to protect your furniture.
Where cabinetry is installed within bathrooms or other humid environments, we recommend:
- Using an extractor fan.
- Opening a window where possible.
- Wiping away excess moisture.
- Repairing plumbing leaks promptly.
- Avoiding prolonged standing water on painted, timber or stone surfaces.
These simple habits will help keep your furniture looking beautiful for years to come.

Where fitted, our cabinetry is equipped with premium Blum MOVENTO drawer runners, selected for their exceptional quality, beautifully smooth operation and outstanding reliability.
Blum is recognised worldwide for manufacturing some of the finest furniture fittings available, which is why we’ve chosen their products throughout our handcrafted cabinetry.

For a step-by-step guide, please watch Blum’s official adjustment video.
Blum also offers a Lifetime Guarantee on its drawer runner systems, providing additional peace of mind.
